Medivet Llanishen Cat Clinic is part of the Medivet group (a wider community of veterinary practices). Reviews consistently describe a cat-focused setup that helps anxious cats cope better than in mixed-species clinics, with owners mentioning calmer visits and cats returning to normal quickly afterwards. Several recent reviews also highlight thorough explanations during appointments and extra effort to keep cats comfortable (for example, distracting kittens with “cat yoghurt” during worming and vaccinations).

Several recent reviews also highlight thorough explanations during appointments and extra effort to keep cats comfortable (for example, distracting kittens with “cat yoghurt” during worming and vaccinations). A small number of reviews raise concerns: one owner describes an unexpected request for payment of £500+ relating to treatment from over 2.5 years earlier, and another says they lost confidence in the clinic’s handling of an over-grooming issue and moved practices.
Google rating: 4.9 stars from 365 reviews. - Owners often mention a low-stress, cat-focused experience, including anxious cats settling more easily than they did at general practices.

Amazing clinic, the only place I’ll happily take my cat. Always very thorough and explain everything fully. Thank you team

Outstanding service

Would not recommend this practice. I have been sent a request for payment of over £500 from over 2.5 years ago, no explanation of what services were provided and this was the first I had heard in 2.5 years that I owed them anything. This practice was good under previous ownership but wouldn’t recommend them now.

I have owned cats ( or rather they have owned me!) all my life, but this is the first time I have had a proper relationship with a vet. Lois rocks!

Honestly couldn't ask for a lovelier vets, they do everything they can to make it comfortable for your cats and are patient with new, nervous pet parents (like me!). My kittens had never been to a vet before and the vet made them so comfortable, and distracted them with cat yoghurt so they barely noticed the worming treatment or vaccinations!

Not convinced with the Cat Clinic that they are the best. The vets appearance can be improved her scrubs are torn around the hem and her shoe laces are always undone when ive been. Lost faith in their ability to resolve my cats over grooming issue so made the choice to move her to my main vets where my other pets are looked after and they solved the issue in two visits .

Cardiff cat clinic is excellent. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my pet’s care. I know they do their very best for my cat’s health and well-being. Kitty has passed away since I first wrote this review. She was poorly for a long time but still enjoying life. Lois and Anne were the most compassionate people I could have asked for to deal with the decision to end her suffering when it was the right time.

I’ve been bringing my cats to Cardiff Cat Clinic for about 7 years. They have always been amazingly caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. More friendliness and genuine caring than I’ve ever experienced anywhere else but I also know that my cats are in experienced hands. Having a cat only clinic and not having a waiting room packed with animals really helps my anxious bengal calm down. Vet visits used to result in her hiding and going off her food for days, but now she’s back to normal as soon as we get home. My three amigos vote five stars!
