My pet Beatrice recently had her spay and the front of house and vet staff were both so amazing with our baby but also in assuring us that all would be okay. They are so clear with what will be happening with prices as well as her treatment and aftercare. I received photos of Bea from Beth while she was with them and it was so comforting to know she was happy and safe. Thank you guys!!!

I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent care my cat received at Vets for Pets Cardiff. Within the past month, we have spent over £2,000 on oral surgeries for our cat. Following the most recent procedure, we noticed that the area on our cat’s leg — which had been shaved for a drip — had been shaved so closely that the skin was left raw and sore. When we returned to the practice to address this issue, we were told that we need to buy a cream to treat the sore at a cost of £32 despite it being caused by the clinic’s own actions. We provided photos and videos as evidence, but unfortunately, the team declined to take responsibility. I have photos of the sore the same day as the surgery took place however we were told the cat had caused the sore yet you can clearly see the raw skin in the photos.

Our fur baby has received INCREDIBLE CARE since the day she joined this practice (NRC) She has had to receive special care due to her condition and all of the team have gone above and beyond to help make her visits and ongoing going care the very best. From the moment we walk in, we feel our pooch is in the best hands. The team’s warmth, patience, and love for animals shines through in everything they do. Thanks to them, she is happy and is able to enjoy life once again. We can’t recommend them highly enough! A special thanks to Sandra and Mai 🐾 we are extremely grateful to them for their dedicated care and also the entire team as they showed kindness and compassion when our fur baby needed it most. They all work so hard to provide exemplary care to all the animals and their owners and their knowledge, expertise and professionalism is incredible. They always take the time to explain every part of the process and go that extra mile. THANK YOU 🙏🏼🐾

Rarely feel the need to write a review but for the sake of other dog owners, I feel compelled to share. I’ve used this vets for long time and overall they provide good service. However, I encourage all dog owners using their teeth cleaning service to proceed with caution. Recently, I took my dog for a teeth clean. During the initial consultation, I was informed that my dogs teeth were “good” but 1 tooth would need to be removed. Granted, they can’t be sure until x-rays are done on the day of the clean, so I accept that this was always subject to change. On the day of the clean, I received a call around midday to say that my dogs teeth were still relatively good but 3-5 teeth would need to be removed. Again, understandable, since at this point they had x-rays and my dog was under anaesthetic, meaning they could assess the teeth better. At 5pm, I get a call to come and collect my dog. To my shock, I’m told that my dog actually needed 15 teeth to be removed, which they proceeded to remove without any further communication with me. Their reason for removing these teeth were because they were a bit loose, yet they were unable to tell me this during the 12:30 call after they had assessed my dog. For comparison, my family dog is a rescue that is 10 years old. He recently went to a different Vets4Pets for a teeth clean and no teeth were removed, despite the dogs very obvious poor dental health. Their specialists opinion was that unless the dog was in discomfort or at considerable risk, the teeth don’t need to be removed unnecessarily. It seems unusual that Vets4Pets operate so differently across branches. In a more recent visit, they suggested my other dog, which is young, should have more than 10 teeth removed because they were a bit loose. I’ve grown up around dogs and have a large circle of friends and family with dogs who have had professional teeth cleaning treatments and I do not know a single person whose vet has taken teeth so willingly. I appreciate that when a dog is under anaesthetic the professionals don’t have the luxury of time. However, I do have concerns over their lack of communication. It is unacceptable to remove 33% of a dogs teeth without consulting with its owner, especially when the expectation set with the owner was to remove only 3-5 teeth.

I brought my dog to Vets4Pets Newport Road after a rough experience at another vet in Cardiff. There are a few things I appreciate about this hospital: - The vets are skilled with good bedside manner, and I was impressed that they offer sonography, radiology, and orthopaedics. They also take the time to talk through your pets care with you and make sure that you understand everything. - They offer emergency services. Although my dog's case was pushed back a day, they helped another pup with an urgent surgery. I am from the States, and these cases nearly always get bumped to emergency clinics and speciality hospitals. - They respect my knowledge as a licensed vet nurse in the States. Other vets dismissed any concerns or knowledge I had of vet med. I've been in the field for 16 years, and I am a skilled nurse, so I appreciate that being recognized. - Their prices are reasonable. - Most of the staff handled it well when I was upset when my old dog's case was deferred to the following week (there may be some lingering irritation with me from some staff, but that is okay). The only issue I had was with an estimate being a little off, but that happens in vet med. They were able to fix some things to honor the price they quoted me.

Had both my cats registered there for years, Logan had a lot of health problems recently and all of the vets there went above and beyond to help him and me through it when a lot of other vets probably would have given up on him. Rudo and the whole team were amazing and they made an awful situation so much more bearable I cannot thank them enough
